Who We Are
Sintlet is a location-based social networking and matching platform that helps users connect with people nearby based on shared interests.
Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information You Provide
Phone Number
Used strictly for account registration, identity verification, and login via secure OTP authentication.
Profile Identity & Preferences
Includes your Name, Date of Birth (used to verify you are 18 or older and to calculate and display your age on your profile — your date of birth is stored privately; only your age is visible to other users), Gender, and your matching preferences. We also collect your answers to our "Vibe Check" questions to power our compatibility algorithm.
Location Information
We collect your device's GPS location to provide nearby discovery and Active Vibe features. Location is handled in two distinct ways:
Profile location (private): Your precise GPS coordinates are stored in a private, isolated database and are never shared with other users. Your location is resolved to a city or regional area (e.g., "Mumbai, Maharashtra") for display on your public profile.
Active Vibe sessions: When you activate a Vibe, your approximate location — at neighbourhood-level precision — is temporarily shared with other authenticated users who are active in the same Vibe room, to enable nearby discovery. This session location data is automatically removed when your Vibe session ends or expires (sessions last up to 3 hours). Your precise GPS coordinates are not exposed during this process.
Camera, Photos & Content
Used to allow you to securely upload profile photos, build your visual identity, and write your bio snippets.
Photo checks: Before a profile photo is uploaded, the app checks on your device whether the photo contains a detectable face. This check runs locally on your device; it is not used to identify you, and we do not send face data to a server as part of it. After upload, photos are also automatically screened for content that is not allowed before they are published (see Sections 4.2 and 8).
In-App Messaging
When you match with another user, a private chat room is created. Messages you send are stored on Sintlet's servers using Google Firebase and are accessible within the conversation to you and your conversation partner.
Data stored per message includes: message content, sender identity, timestamp, and delivery and read receipts.
Message deletion: You can delete your own messages within 24 hours of sending. Deleted messages show a placeholder to both parties; original content may be retained internally for moderation and safety purposes.
Clearing your chat: Clearing your chat hides messages from your view only. Your match's copy of the conversation is not affected.
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect technical data to ensure our app works perfectly on your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to power the Sintlet experience:
Core Functions
Create and manage your account, authenticate users via secure OTP, and provide nearby matching services.
Social Display
Display your profile to other users and enable media uploads so you can express freely. Uploaded photos are automatically screened before they are published.
Technical Health
Send you notifications and improve overall app performance and reliability.
Data Retention & User Rights
5. Data Retention
Data is stored while your account is active.
After account deletion, the following is removed or scheduled for removal:
- Your name, bio, interests, lifestyle details, address, location on your public profile, phone number, and email are removed or anonymised as part of the account deletion process. Other details you entered (for example your date of birth, gender, and your last saved location) stay in a deactivated profile record until it is permanently deleted, which is scheduled for 30 days after your request.
- The photos shown on your profile are deleted from our storage servers. Other image files you uploaded (for example, earlier photos or uploads that were not completed) may remain in storage after deletion.
- Your match list, blocked-user list, active Vibe session, and account settings are deleted.
The following may be retained after deletion:
- Chat messages: Messages you previously sent may remain visible to your conversation partner in their chat history.
- Safety records: Reports and blocks involving your account are retained for community safety, abuse prevention, and moderation purposes.
- Deletion audit record: A record of your deletion request (which can include your account ID, a one-way hash of your phone number, the reason you gave for deleting, timestamps, and basic account statistics — not your raw phone number) is retained for compliance purposes.
- Photo moderation records: Records of automated photo screening may be retained after account deletion. They can include your account ID, the moderation ratings, the screening decision, and the photo's access link (token URL). We do not currently state a fixed deletion period for these records.
- Match and interaction records: Records of likes, passes, and mutual matches involving your account may remain, and can include the display name and photo link shown at the time.
- Notification token: Your device's push notification token may remain in the deactivated profile record until it is permanently deleted.
- Security and abuse-prevention telemetry: We collect limited pseudonymous security telemetry to prevent abuse, protect account verification, and maintain the security of Sintlet. This may include a pseudonymous phone-number hash, country calling-code prefix, pseudonymous IP hash, User-Agent information, OTP outcome, and timestamps. This information is pseudonymous, not anonymous. Raw OTP security telemetry is retained for 7 days. Security incident records are retained for 90 days. These records are automatically deleted after their applicable retention period using Firestore TTL. Daily aggregated security statistics (counts per day, including counts by country calling-code prefix, with no phone numbers or IP addresses) are kept without a fixed deletion period.
- Analytics and diagnostics: Data collected by Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics is retained by Google in accordance with Google's data retention policies.
6. Account Deletion
You have complete control over your data. You can delete your account easily:
Data Security
We utilize modern defense tools to protect your data from unauthorized access.
- https HTTPS encryption for all network traffic.
- dns Secure Firebase infrastructure.
- lock_person Advanced Access control mechanisms.
- verified_user App integrity verification: We use Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our servers come from authentic, unmodified versions of the Sintlet app. On Android, this uses Google Play Integrity; on iOS, it uses Apple's device attestation. This verification is used to assess the integrity of the app and device environment and is separate from your profile content.
- shield Abuse prevention: We use rate-limiting and one-way cryptographic hashing for security and abuse prevention purposes.
User-Generated Content Policy

- Harassment or abuse
- Fake identities
- Illegal content
gpp_good We provide tools to:
- Report users
- Block users instantly
- Note: Violations result in swift suspension or ban.
Automated photo screening: Profile photos are automatically screened using Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch before they are published. The screening checks for potentially explicit or violent content. Photos that fail screening are not published. If screening cannot be completed, the photo remains unpublished and you can try again.

10. Children's Privacy
Sintlet is designed strictly for users 18 and older. No data is knowingly collected from minors.
11. International Processing
Data may be processed on secure global servers (e.g., Firebase) to ensure rapid matching everywhere.
12. Changes to Policy
We may radically update this policy. When significant changes occur, we will proactively notify active users.
