Who We Are
Sintlet is a location-based social networking and matching platform that helps users connect with people nearby based on shared interests.
Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information You Provide
Phone Number
Used strictly for account registration, identity verification, and login via secure OTP authentication.
Profile Identity & Preferences
Includes your Name, Date of Birth (used to verify you are 18 or older and to calculate and display your age on your profile — your date of birth is stored privately; only your age is visible to other users), Gender, and your matching preferences. We also collect your answers to our "Vibe Check" questions to power our compatibility algorithm.
Location Information
We collect your device's GPS location to provide nearby discovery and Active Vibe features. Location is handled in two distinct ways:
Profile location (private): Your precise GPS coordinates are stored in a private, isolated database and are never shared with other users. Your location is resolved to a city or regional area (e.g., "Mumbai, Maharashtra") for display on your public profile.
Active Vibe sessions: When you activate a Vibe, your approximate location — at neighbourhood-level precision — is temporarily shared with other authenticated users who are active in the same Vibe room, to enable nearby discovery. This session location data is automatically removed when your Vibe session ends or expires (sessions last up to 3 hours). Your precise GPS coordinates are not exposed during this process.
Camera, Photos & Content
Used solely to allow you to securely upload profile photos, build your visual identity, and write your bio snippets.
In-App Messaging
When you match with another user, a private chat room is created. Messages you send are stored on Sintlet's servers using Google Firebase and are accessible within the conversation to you and your conversation partner.
Data stored per message includes: message content, sender identity, timestamp, and delivery and read receipts.
Message deletion: You can delete your own messages within 24 hours of sending. Deleted messages show a placeholder to both parties; original content may be retained internally for moderation and safety purposes.
Clearing your chat: Clearing your chat hides messages from your view only. Your match's copy of the conversation is not affected.
micMicrophone (iOS Specific Tech Requirement)
Our app includes microphone permission on iOS devices due to the underlying camera framework used by the image selection feature.
👉 Important Clarification
- We do NOT record, store, or access audio.
- Microphone permission is never actively used by the app.
- This permission exists solely because Apple’s camera framework (used via image picker) supports video recording internally.
- User Impact: You will NOT see a microphone permission popup unless video recording is explicitly used (which our app does not currently do).
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect technical data to ensure our app works perfectly on your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to power the Sintlet experience:
Core Functions
Create and manage your account, authenticate users via secure OTP, and provide nearby matching services.
Social Display
Display your profile to other users and enable media uploads so you can express freely.
Technical Health
Send you notifications and improve overall app performance and reliability.
Data Retention & User Rights
5. Data Retention
Data is stored while your account is active.
After account deletion, the following is removed or scheduled for removal:
- Your name, profile photos, bio, and other profile identifiers are removed or anonymised as part of the account deletion process, with profile data scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days.
- Your profile photos are deleted from our storage servers.
- Your matches, Vibe history, and account settings are deleted.
- Your push notification token is cleared immediately.
The following may be retained after deletion:
- Chat messages: Messages you previously sent may remain visible to your conversation partner in their chat history.
- Safety records: Reports and blocks involving your account are retained for community safety, abuse prevention, and moderation purposes.
- Deletion audit record: A record of your deletion request (containing a one-way identifier hash and aggregate account statistics — not your raw phone number) is retained for compliance purposes.
- Analytics and diagnostics: Data collected by Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics is retained by Google in accordance with Google's data retention policies.
6. Account Deletion
You have complete control over your data. You can delete your account easily:
Data Security
We utilize modern defense tools to protect your data from unauthorized access.

- dns Secure Firebase infrastructure.
- lock_person Advanced Access control mechanisms.
- verified_user App integrity verification: We use Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our servers come from authentic, unmodified versions of the Sintlet app. On Android, this uses Google Play Integrity; on iOS, it uses Apple's device attestation. This verification is used to assess the integrity of the app and device environment and is separate from your profile content.
- shield Abuse prevention: We use rate-limiting and one-way cryptographic hashing for security and abuse prevention purposes.
User-Generated Content Policy

- Explicit content
- Harassment or abuse
- Fake identities
- Illegal content
gpp_good We provide tools to:
- Report users
- Block users instantly
- Note: Violations result in swift suspension or ban.
Permissions Usage
We request on-device permissions strictly when required for app functionality:
10. Children's Privacy
Sintlet is designed strictly for users 18 and older. No data is knowingly collected from minors.
11. International Processing
Data may be processed on secure global servers (e.g., Firebase) to ensure rapid matching everywhere.
12. Changes to Policy
We may radically update this policy. When significant changes occur, we will proactively notify active users.
